Stretch tents for urban festivals

Mulled wine, a rooftop view of the Thames, a cosy fire and a good blanket, it’s the festive season in London and Intent have been helping the Southbank Centre create warmth and a little bit of wonder with The Wintertime Festival. Offering a range of pop up installations taking inspiration from the Alps to finding Nordic treats and festive favourites, this year’s Wintertime Festival has it all and three giant snow globes to boot.

Close to the river’s edge, taking full advantage of the wintery views of the city, Jimmy’s Lodge on the River offers three delicious dining experiences to Wintertime festival goers, The Refuge Restaurant (three course dining), The Snow Globes (private dining) and The Jimmy’s Lodge serving hot cocktails and street food straight from the grill.

Decorated with bright purple festoon lights and complete with a cosy outdoor fire and indoor heating, Jimmy’s lodge transforms at night into a snug bankside bar serving indulgent snacks and warming winter drinks. Just turn up and snuggle up with a raclette burger.

High above the river banks and bridge, in the get away that is the Southbank roof garden, the terrace housing wildflowers, urban allotments and fruit trees has been transformed into a covered winter bar and cafe, with an added Finish sauna. The perfect place to let of steam after work on a wintery London night. Originally created in collaboration with the team from the Eden Project, this urban oasis has long been a favourite of Londoners wanting to rise above the busy city and find a peaceful retreat.

Back by the riverside and tucked discreetly under Waterloo bridge, The Bar Under the Bridge is back this winter with a splash, serving up an expanded selection of fine local, national and international beers with a focus on beer sourced from Nordic breweries. Add chicken burgers to die for (courtesy of Palmstar) and you have a perfect winter snack.
